Most Used Baby Products: Months 3-6

Time is a thief. It is hard to believe our peanut is 7 months old already – but any caregiver knows just how long the nights and how short the years are. As everyone predicted, I am missing the middle of the night snuggles and daytime contact naps, but we are all enjoying the extra sleep these days.

We sleep trained Ash when he was 4.5 months old (more on that soon), and it went phenomenally well. He has slept through the night since then and naps are incredibly consistent. Yay for sleep!

I feel like the first three months were merely about survival – when I look back on my post Most Used Baby Products: Months 0-3 I sort of chuckle because it was mostly sleep and food focused. OK let’s be real, this one is also very focused on sleep and food but here it is – my roundup of our favorite baby products for months 3-6!

BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Mini

When Asher was a newborn, I used the Solly wraps religiously to baby wear. As he got a bit bigger, I found the BabyBjorn (mini) more convenient because he wanted to look around and engage more with his surroundings. I use this carrier in the grocery store, walking the dogs, running quick errands, hiking, etc. We almost never use our stroller because I prefer to wear Asher while he is still small enough to manage! Another perk – Adam also loves it and we can easily hand it back and forth as it is super quick to adjust. I have thrown it in the wash a couple of times as well, so it’s easy to keep clean.

Babyletto Hudson 3-in-1 Convertible Crib and Solly Baby Crib Sheets

When we started sleep training we also transitioned Asher into his own room in his crib and he has slept in there ever since. We have the Babyletto Hudson 3-in-1 Convertible crib and we love the neutral tone of the wood and how easy it will be to adjust as he grows.

When I was pregnant I bought a few Solly Baby crib sheets and they are the BEST. They are just as soft, cozy, and breathable as the wraps! I change his crib sheet every morning, which means I am washing them constantly, and I can attest that they have withstood many washes thus far and are still incredibly soft.

Kyte Baby Sleep Sack

Asher wears his Kyte Baby sleep sack for every nap and at bedtime. I have four of them, 2 for my house and 2 for daycare, because consistency is key for us and when his sleep sack goes on his knows it is time to wind down. We keep his room between 68 – 72 degrees so we use the 1.0 tog rating. In my opinion all Kyte Baby products are worth the $$ and the sleep sack is no different. He is 7 months now and we still use the 0-6 month sleep sack so we have gotten so much use out of them.

Spectra S1 Breast Pump & Como Tomo Bottles

With the transition to daycare and the introduction of formula to supplement breastfeeding, we really increased our bottle usage during months 5 and 6. We had a few different types of bottles ready to introduce to Asher, but he liked the first one we tried and we’ve stuck with it – the Como Tomo bottles. Easy for him to hold, easy to clean, super functional and durable. We moved from the slow flow, to medium flow, and most recently to the fast flow nipples and haven’t had a single issue!

I also needed to pump more and my Willow pumps just weren’t cutting it. I finally caved and purchased the Spectra S1 and it was worth it. I was kicking myself for not purchasing it sooner as I struggled for way too long with the Willow pumps. In the 3 months I have used the Spectra it hasn’t given me trouble ONCE. Consistent and reliable.

Jolly Jumper

If you follow me on Instagram you have likely seen videos and photos of Asher in his Jolly Jumper – he freaking loves that thing. My parents actually got this for him for Christmas and he uses it all the time. Only downside is it takes up a LOT of space and is a bit of an eye sore, haha (everything is temporary). We have struggled to decide where to keep it long term, but made it the center of our living room for awhile because he loved it so much. It is great when I need to clean the dishes or fold the laundry or get really anything else done for 5-10 minutes! We put on some music and sing and dance/jump together.

Touch & Explore Books

We have so many books, and love them all. We read to Asher before every nap and at bed time, so we cycle through books a lot and are always looking for good baby book recommendations. The touch and explore books are our favorite for active play time, and Ash loves to feel the soft lion’s mane and rough skin of the sharks on the page. It’s a great teaching tool and sensory activity! We have Ocean, Safari, and Pets!

Mushie Teethers & Stacking Cups

I think I own half of what Mushie has on the market – I love everything from their teethers to their burp cloths to their silicone bowls, bibs, and spoons. We are big fans of the Mushie brand in this house, but I specifically want to highlight their teethers and stacking cups because those were our most frequently used items during this time period. Truly, we used them almost every single day. Might I remind you Asher has EIGHT TEETH! His favorite teethers are the sunshine, rocket ship, and ball.

Ami+Li Hat

This seems like a silly recommendation, because there are SO MANY baby hats out there, but I get asked where I got this hat from all the time so I wanted to add it here. I keep this in Ash’s diaper bag because I throw it on him anytime we are outside and the sun is out! Such a high quality and affordable baby hat for these warm summer months!

Skip Hop Bath Tub

In my post Most Used Baby Products: Months 0-3 I shared the Puj bathtub, which was perfect for when Ash was super small and could take baths in our bathroom sink. As he grew, we switched to the Skip Hop Bath Tub and moved him from the sink, to our big bath tub! He LOVES this tub and it has been very easy to clean, to travel with (yes we packed it in the car for our trips) and to adjust as he got bigger. He is now sitting up and splashing away in there, and it helps to keep him a bit contained.

It was so hard to choose only a handful of products we have loved during this joyful stage of life for Asher, but these were tried and true and I hope you enjoyed learning more about them!
